⸺  Who Am I?

My name is Matthew. I’m a self-taught artist from Sweden. I have drawn for as long as I can remember — I've often been told that I’ve been drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil, and there’s some truth to that, I think. Art has always been a creative outlet for me, growing up in a small town where I never quite felt like I fit in.I have no formal artistic education, and everything I’ve learned about how to draw has been through self-studies and a lot of practice. I’ve worked with both traditional and digital media, and find both equally appealing for their own reasons. There is something about putting pen to paper, but there is also something to be said for the convenience of digital art (gone are the days of carrying a pen case full to the point of bursting and weighing more than a brick). I consider myself an artist of both mediums, and frequently mix traditional and digital media to achieve the results I’m looking for.If there is one thing to be said about me, let it be that I am a nerd. I am an avid enjoyer of everything fantasy and mythological — books, tabletop games, video games, movies — you name it. Fantasy media and mythology are my two biggest influences and inspirations. If it’s got dragons, elves or magic, I’m there. Give me Dark Souls, The Witcher, Dragon Age, The Elder Scrolls, A Song of Ice & Fire, The First Law, The Stormlight Archive, The Lord of the Rings... To name a few.
